2 Kings, Chapter 10
Synopsis: Jehu, in accordance with God’s prophecies and wishes kills every descendent of Ahab, a previous King of Israel. Everyone. Nearly the whole chapter is about killing Ahab’s family. There is even a section I. Which Jehu pretends to throw a “party” for the devil worshipers just so it’s easy to round them all up and kill them in one go.
But despite Jehu’s apparent zeal to do God’s work he doesn’t fully turn from sin himself. Illustrated by Jehu keeping and worshiping the golden calves. God praises Jehu and honors him, but because of Jehu’s (and families) sinfulness God starts making Israel smaller.
