Rucking The Ruins

2 Kings, Chapter 7

Synopsis: The King of Israel is blaming God via Elisha for the siege and the deadly famine. With an officer the King goes to Elisha’s house to kill Elisha. Through a door Elisha tells them that the siege and famine will end tomorrow. The officer asks if that can be true and Elisha says yes, and you’ll see it but won’t eat any of it.

Then there are these four lepers who decide that they have nothing to loose and may as well surrounded to the Arameans. When they get to the enemy camp they find that it is deserted because God fooled them with dreams of chariots and armies to think that they were attacked and outnumbered. The lepers eat and steel a little gold. Then they go and tell Israel. With some hesitancy and after verification that the enemy has indeed gone the Israelites rush the abandoned enemy camp and eat for cheap just as Elisha promised. In the rush the officer that questioned whether what Elisha foretold could be true he gets trampled to death. So Elisha’s prophecy becomes true in all ways.
